I know it’s been a little while, since I’ve posted. Trying to get used to having a blog and a full job and a life as well. It’s hard to juggle everything at once. But yesterday, I went on a 4wheeler ride and I want to share my pictures…
Please post your 4th of July experiences! I went for a 4wheeler ride in beautiful Eastern Oregon.
Hope everyone has a fun day!! It’s supposed to be nice today, so I’m going out on the 4wheeler and going fishing!! 😃
Starting today, I’m on a little vacation to Eastern Oregon. Hope everyone has a safe and fun 4th of July!! Took these pics on my journey so far…
I just want to start by saying how much I LOVE Costco!! At Costco, they sell these breakfast egg bites. The company that makes them is Three Bridges and I get the egg, bacon and cheese. Sometimes they have a veggie one, but this one is my favorite because it has bacon in which I love!!❤️ Anyways, you can get 4 of these for under $10!! They are so yummy.
It only takes 50-60 seconds in the microwave. And it’s filling. 🙂
So it’s now July 1st, and usually it’s pretty warm and sunny, but this week it keeps raining. There is a saying here in Central Oregon, “if you don’t like the weather, wait 10 minutes and it will change”. It is no joke like that. Last week we had sunshine, rain, thunder, lightening, hail, more rain then sunshine all within an hour or so! It’s nuts. I make sure in my trunk of my car, I have a little bit of everything like jackets, blankets, sandals, sunscreen, etc! Lol
Anyways, yesterday was sunny, warm and nice pretty much all day. Then around 730pmish, the clouds start to build and we get lightening and rain.
Around 830pmish, I took this picture. The sunset was so beautiful!
Last night I made steak and mushrooms in my air fryer. I bought my air fryer about 2 months ago and have only really used a couple of times. So far I really like it because it is easy and a quick clean up.
When I am making dinner usually, I don’t follow a recipe exactly and usually it works it out. lol Usually, that is when my best ideas come to life. I was never a good cook, but I am slowly learning. I LOVE baking and can do that pretty well. I really like being creative and being able to make something that will bring a smile to someone’s face.
So I saw a recipe for steak and mushrooms and I tweaked it to how I like it. I made this recipe with sirloin steak, I’m sure you can make it with whatever steak you wanted. I like to marinade my steak before cooking. So I used McCormicks Mesquite seasoning and I drizzled it over each side of the steak. Then I drizzled Worcestershire sauce over both sides of the steak. I covered it with foil and put it in the fridge for about a few hours. I think I did about 6 hours, but I feel like 2-4 hours would be good. It is up to you really on how long you want to have it in the fridge to marinate.
Then when it was time to make dinner, I took the steak out of the fridge and chopped it into chunks. Then I chopped an onion and garlic into smaller pieces. I used probably about 1/2 cup of onions and 1/4 cup of garlic. But again, it is whatever you like, so if you like more or less, do what you like. I put the steak, onion, garlic and mushrooms in a bowl. I used probably about a 1/2 cup of mushrooms, but you can always use more or less.
I turned on my air fryer and set it to 400 degrees, which I thought it was a little high. But it cooks super fast.
Spray the inside of the air fry basket with some cooking spray, to help it not stick to the sides as much. It is supposed to be “non-stick” but we all know how that really goes lol
Put the mixture into the air fryer basket and spread it out into a thin layer. I have a small air fryer, so I had to do to two batches.
So the original recipe wanted me to cook it for 10 minutes. I think that is WAY too much time. I like my steak rare or medium rare, not shoe leather. lol With the air fryers, you have to stop in the middle of cooking and flip the mixture over, so it cooks evenly.
So I cooked my first batch for 3 minutes then flipped it and did 2 more minutes. For me, even that was too long because it is at 400 degrees. So, for the next batch, I did 2 minutes, took the fry basket out, flipped the mixture and did it for 2 more minutes. That was good for the steak, so I took all the steak out and cooked the mushrooms, garlic and onions for 3 more minutes to get them browned.
Here is the result. It was SO tender and delicious.
This is my first recipe that I actually typed out:
There are a few apps that I use on my phone that are pretty cool and really help me save money.
- Digit: This is a really cool app that you hook up to your bank account. (It is safe) Basically, it rounds up all your purchases to an even number, the remainder gets deposited into their account. So if you had a purchase for $1.50, $.50 cents would be deposited from your bank account into your Digit account. Its like a “rainy” day savings account. They have the “rainy” day fund and you can hook up a credit card to pay off and it will do that every month for you, with the money that builds up in your account.
2. Fetch Rewards: This is a pretty cool site as well. You take a photo of all your grocery receipts and you get rewarded points. You can turn these points into gift cards.
So, everyday I am looking for ways to make more money and I have found 2 very different ways to do that. Everything that I am putting on my blog are things that I am actually doing or have done. Nothing on here will ever be fake or lies or anything like that. I am a real person looking for a real experience. I am ultimately trying to find something I love, so it wont feel like work. But until I find that, I need to be able to survive.
So, here is what I have started doing…
- Bitcoin: I actually have had an account with Bitcoin since 2014, but never really did anything with it. Bitcoin is what is known as “Crytocurrency, which basically is an electronic currency. I know as the years have gone by, there is more and more things you can do with Bitcoin. I know it is bigger in other countries than our own and nowadays, you can buy a lot more with it. When I started with Bitcoin back in 2014, it was only worth a couple hundred dollars. I think I invested like $50 at time. At the beginning of this year, it was worth about $3,500. Today, it is worth almost $12,000. So since the beginning of the year, I have invested about $40 in it and now I have about $200. I don’t have a lot to invest to begin with, but the little I have done, it seems to keep increasing. (This site is CoinBase, that is the one I use, but there are several others)
- Stash: Many years ago, I played the stock market and never really did anything with it. But I found this app called Stash and you buy into different stocks like Amazon, Netflix, Costco, Walmart, Starbucks, etc. I do the minimum which is $5 a week or every other week. And I look this like a “rainy day” fund really. You can set up a retirement account with them as well. Again, Im sure if I invest a lot more money, I would be getting more bang for my buck. But this is all I can do, and in a couple of years, I will have a little extra money when I need it.
